"Social Media Contest Launches Business and Wine Region" - With Your Help!

I've been toying with the idea of writing this post for a few days now, and what I concluded today while on the treadmill, is that I shouldn't be so apologetic or insecure about using this blog as a resource, even if it does happen to be for a self-promoting purpose like a silly contest. Its a silly contest that could seriously help launch my business and our wine region. And while most people don't buy into other people's dreams this easy or act on something that they don't see as benefiting them, please start. Just the number of impressions my entry has received, has planted the words 'Southern Oregon wine' in more people's minds, and that's my main goal.

So, here is my quick plea. The social media contest is called "Wear the Pants Project" and is sponsored by Dockers. It required a brief explanation of my plan and now I'm in a popularity voting stage. As of February 13th 6:30 p.m. PST, I've acquired 137 votes (woohoo!), ranking me in the top 5, in a contest with over 8,000 applicants. The voting continues until March 15th (this is definitely a marathon, not a sprint) where the top 50 are taken to the next phase. The second phase will ask me to write a compelling essay about what I would do with the winnings ($100k). The top 5 are selected by Dockers (but really, how could they resist my charm and motivation?) and move on to the final voting. Then, the control is back on you to support me, so I can take home the winnings, help launch my brand and the Southern Oregon wine region.
