Troon Wines Selected for Sundance Film Festival

Can you imagine getting a call one morning requesting your wines be poured at the Opening Night Reception for the 2011 Sundance Film Festival? Well, that was the reality for Troon Vineyard this past week. And tonight hundreds of celebrities and film enthusiasts will be sipping the Troon 2009 Viognier (currently out of stock, so Chris Martin donated from his own cellar), 2007 River Guide White, 2009 Druid's Fluid Red and 2007 Kubli Bench Cabernet Sauvignon in Park City, Utah.

Hopefully, pictures of Robert Redford with a glass of Southern Oregon's own will be posted soon!

About the Sundance Film Festival: In 1981, Robert Redford gathered a group of his friends and colleagues in the mountains of Utah to create an environment designed to foster independence, discovery, and new voices in American film. Since those first Labs, the Institute has grown into an internationally recognized resource for thousands of independent film, theatre, and music artists. The Sundance Film Festival is held in or around Park City, Utah each January and is widely considered the premier platform for American and international indepenedent film, the Festival has introduced audiences to some of the most original stories of the last three decades.

"Storytellers broaden our minds: engage, provoke, inspire, and ultimately, connect us." - Robert Redford

You could easily say wine does the same thing.

It seems so fitting that Southern Oregon wines, currently a region of independent spirit and creativity in the wine industry, be selected to pair with Sundance's mission of fostering discovery and new voices.
